About The Rolfe Community Fire Department:
It is the goal of the Rolfe Community Fire Department to strive unceasingly to find better ways of protecting the lives, homes, & property of its fellow citizens from the ravages of fire & other disasters.

We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area in the Northeast part of Pocahontas County. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

In 1896 the Rolfe city council set ordances for the Fire Department And purchassed 500' hose ($125) and a hose cart ($266). For the first 18yrs not a city block or residence was destroyed by fire. In 1975 the Rual Fire Assc. joined with the city council, and changed the name to Rolfe Community Fire Department.

In May 2002 the members of the Rolfe Community Fire Departmant decided to start a Junior Firefighter program so that younger people could get the opportunity to learn about what it takes to be a firefighter.
